This was also my first time presenting a full tabla solo with self produced beats and electronic music as my accompaniment. Recently, we had our annual student concert for #sandiegotablaacademy. To say I was proud of all of the work my students put in would be an understatement. They truly inspire me! It is a blessing to teach this instrument and be able to share such an amazing tradition of music and drumming. I was enjoying practicing this rela today. It’s a fun one but difficult to get every ingredient to really shine. I struggle with bringing out the DhinNeGeNeDhinNe at high speeds, but that is what practice is for! I once heard Pandit Kumar Bose Ji play a similar composition to this and his rendition will be a forever inspiration! 🙏🏼 #tabla #music #practice

Teaching an interesting tihai in jhaptaal today. Its basically a pattern of 5/Dha- 6/Dha- and 7 x 3 Dha -1-2- x3. DhatiDhaGeNaDha- DhageDhinNaGiNaDha- DhaGeNaTinNaKiNa x 3 Dha -1-2- .
